The Lenster and I are still laughing....we had pouring rain in Toronto last week....we came back to New Jersey to pouring rain and now we are in Cypress, TX ( abt 30 miles NW of Houston) and we arrived to...you guessed it...
but....it was short lived !! It hit 90 in NO time !
*********
We're here to visit with our middle son Lee, DIL Lana and 14 year old granddaughter Darian. Because Lee was in the military for so long it was hard to get together...but now...he's working in the public sector making life so much easier for everyone !!
Yes...he's the spitting image of his dad
and this is Darian (who will be 15 in Sept)
first night...out for Hibachi dinner
then nutritious treats at Tutti Fruiti
and getting acquainted with Jack...their rescue
and, being a Weinberg family, they of course have cats (3)...
Let me introduce Charlie who is playing "I Spy" the fish
and drinks from the bowl without even considering the 'food' aspect of the whole experience !
This is Sheba....the dogs toy is taking a ride...
Lana is extremely crafty and loves finding thrift store buys to re-purpose...
She made this cool scrabble magnetic board
and transformed 2 old frames into one distressed mirror
She found very inexpensive frames, repainted them and used wooden candle stick holders and checker wooden pieces (Hobby Lobby) to hang them from
**********
They live wihin walking distance to the Houston Premium Outlets....that's all I had to know...cool local shopping !!
the magic words....CHICOS OUTLET !! and they shipped !!!!!!
OMG....
Then we discovered Beadaholique...Holy Moley
a beautiful shop...and I helped the local economy...of course !!
a quick stop in Garden Ridge....yikes...all amazing home decor, very very inexpensive
if I lived here I'd probably be in BIG trouble !
***********
Darian and Janay making bracelets
and...the fun nonsense too
hey.......tomorrow is another day !!

A very good looking family you have Suze and a talented DIL.

Loved reading this! I really like the candlestick holders being used to hang the pictures! what a great idea. We have 2 Garden Ridges nearby here--but they have REALLY gone downhill from how they were when living in San Antonio back in 80's...now their parking lots are almost empty here! They sell less CRAFTS at ours now. We have Round Rock premium outlets,Suze, and a huge IKEA store! Have a fun Sunday!
