How often do I get to see the California half of my family? Just a few times a year....so...lucky me..today brother Les, sister-in-law Muffie, niece Ali, nephews Aaron and Ken all went to lunch
at a really nice place called...
where a beautiful array of food was served
and we celebrated the birthdays of Ali, Aaron, Muffies sister Robin -(who couldn't make it because her dog was having puppies) -but..they were on the cake too !
The table even had crayons ...for the 'art at heart' and paper tablecloths
Great, great day....Les and I spent some time searching the Ellis Island registry and found the manifest listing when our father came over from England. Very exciting, for us, anyway.

Then, Muffie and I made a little side trip for some girl shopping and browsing...
I loved these....bought a few...I'm on a bird kick ...what willI do when 'birds are out' !!??!!
the rest was just me and my IPhone camera grabbing some inspiration....like this...
a mirror and some driftwood.....so easy....

then...a second little side trip...to a super cute hotel that was once a train station
The Inn was, at one time, home to the Southern Pacific Railroad Depot built in 1901 and has been a legend in Capitola history for generations. After a historical transformation in 1990, the inn now offers 12 guest rooms and suites uniquely designed to recreate the refined luxury of the bygone era of train travel. Each guest room and suite is cvompletely different.....all reminiscent of European destinations rich in train travel history such as St. Tropez, Paris, and Portofino.
it has Jacuzzis and Hot Tubs, fireplaces, feather beds, bathrobes and bathsalts..and that's not all... you get a full breakfast served in the dining room or delivered to your door , afternoon wine and Hors d'oeuvres , evening desserts and.....turn down service
all near the beach !!!
Muffie took me there because Ali and Ken stayed there the night before their wedding (this past March) & she wanted me to see it.
I loved it !!!!!!
all this visual shopping has me tired....(if you can believe that !!)
BED TIME !!
don't worry....there'll be more tomorrow !

That someone was me Helen! Looking forward to tomorrow Suze.
