I couldn't believe how many emails I got saying that you'd like to see more.....
of my house....
and the eclectic style....
HAPPY TO OBLIGE !!
so...this is a view of the overall layout taken from the staircase that leads to the loft (my studio) and a 3rd bedroom/bath upstairs.
yes...as you can see...it's a pretty open space but it's filled with things both The Lenster and I really love.
most of the things we have came from trips we've made all over the world but many also come from trips to Home Goods, juried craft shows, art shows, art friends or things I've made.
Now...believe it or not...these Indonesian Prayer dolls below (they are praying over the rice paddies) are hanging in my kitchen. They were found in a Home Decor shop in Cleveland.
I said 'DO YOU SHIP" !!!!!
These are the 3 magic words when decorating !! I live by these words !! When the boxes arrived The Lenster thought I'd shipped home 3 coffins !! Fortunately he didn't balk too much cause they're lightweight balsa wood and were easy to hang !
this is the lovely kitchen table !
Now, let me be honest......we eat on paper plates around here !! But it looks good...right !?
from Indonesia...schlepped the two statues home from a trip.
Below
The head statue with the fish we brought home from South Africa. The antique glasses were found at a flea market. The bowl with the hands holding yarn I found two years ago at a Home Goods and my latest find was this very old Concertina that still actually plays. It sits on an old French book advertising "Suze" liquor (you'll see bottles of that a little further down) .
I've had this collection of incredible "angels" for close to 20 years now. All hand made by various artists.
The doll on the left is handmade (not by me !) and the body is all pattern pieces. The doll on the right is a puppet, extremely old, and comes from China
on my far living room wall...painted red...I hung this bee...take note of my very fancy schmancy 'nail'...a push pin!!!
I did this piece of artwork (below) and incorporated one of Michael deMengs small collage pieces (l) into it. The background is UTEE and the red piece was done in one of my very first encaustic classes at WaxWorksWest
Below
This is another piece I did...this one is all UTEE.
But, more cool than that is the bowl (which sits on an african drum). It is all rubber stamped into clay (found it at an art fair in New Mexico a zillion years ago). Look closely... it is the Beatles song "There are places I remember, all my life though some have changed..." can you read it?
and now you can see all of these things in perspective
The tall clock below comes from ZGallerie (they shipped !!) and the ostrich egg from South Africa.
I love natural looking things involving birds, trees or branches and I found this amazing mirror in a shop in New Hope, PA many years ago...."DO YOU SHIP" !!
sitting below the mirror are my 3 monkey candles...found them in Dallas TX 10 or 15 years ago. They look like wood up close and they smell divine.....that place shipped too !!
and Jennifer gave The Lenster this wine rack for his birthday a few years back.....is that not the coolest thing and so simple to make !
Of course you know there's much more....but I'll save it for another blog...
In the meantime...if you come to visit there are 2 guestrooms...each has their own bathroom
...and here's a glimpse of the smaller one...
lots (and I do means lots) of friends have stayed here...look... you get to sleep with the pillow pet too !!!
just yell if you'd like more !!

Your house is so beautiful. Of course we tend to think that when someone else has our taste. What a fun adventure your life has been and may it continue to include lots more. Oh, just let me know when it is convenient for me to visit :)
