WHY you ask? Having too good of a time...fabulous, fantastic time...oh wait...there are more adjectives...amazing, stunning, supercalifragalistic....
First day...just mere moments after arriving...ok I lie...the next morning...
playing at the WaxWorks studio with my very good friends Judy (l) Daniella (c) and Wendy (r) my speak no evil, hear no evil and see no evil waxy buddies on the west coast...I LOVE these girls ! Can you see why....??
I learned a bunch of new techniques....sharing after I get home.
and, let me tell you....these girls know wax...ooooo, do they know wax...just look at some of the things they've waxed and won show awards for
This whole room is all wax...THE WHOLE ROOM...that's a lot of melting !!
They used Mold n Pour to make the key shapes and poured wax into the mold
Yes...everything below has been waxed..yes..the cello too
no birds were harmed in the making of this project
and some of their other brilliant wax work
it's ridiculous...I could go on and on about them..gotta move on..
we visited some boutique/gallery type stores...shopping...shopping..and gathering ideas for projects, like this paper tree.
taking in the fabulous artsy curiosities in Wendys house
The disembodied heads sit right by Wendys computer. Her cleaning girl refuses to dust under them....she's afraid of them !!!! I don't know what she thinks will happen to her if she touches one of them ! I feel some voodoo coming on.
and dinner at Daniellas....Matzo Ball soup, chopped liver, challah bread...such a fantastic treat for me.
(pictured Daniella, Judy, Wendy and Kim)
and Daniella has a new book coming out very soon...she's signing a copy for me. It's a great accompanying piece for her incredible DVD. You can also read Daniellas' personal blog where she talks about her recent trips.
Wendy and I went to Filoli Gardens and there are so many pictures I decided to put them on my MobileMe account so you can all see them at your leisure. All you need to do is CLICK HERE. I felt like I was Alice in Wonderland...that's how incredible these gardens were. The house we toured was the original "Carrington House" used in the filming of the show. You can also read more about Filoli HERE as well.

The wax pieces are so delicate, some are so tiny; the cello & birds are favourites. Great to learn new techniques from your very talented friends & get messy at the same time. Pictures awesome as usual, looking forward to tomorrows blog :-)
