we were so fortunate to have radios like this battery operated one
this has been our mode of 'entertainment' for the past 4 days..and we say "Thank God" for batteries !!!
I'm at a local Target store where they are have FREE WiFi and I am over the moon cause I can send some a few pictures.
We live a little more inland from the Jersey shore (about 20 minutes) so we were very fortunate to just have a lot of downed trees and not too much else....well.....except for NO POWER !!!
This little guy made it just fine....
but his big brothers.....well...
this tree was right across the street from our house. It's hard to imagine how they were ripped right out of their roots.
people here where we live are so lucky these massive trees didn't fall on their homes...because in other areas they did.
Burger King didn't fare so well....
and our friends pool didn't either...
We still have NO POWER going on the 4th day...but...I have to admit we are much luckier than others...we are sharing a generator with our neighbor
this provides us with minimum light and a small heater
The Lenster is resourceful....he can cook under all sorts of weird conditions...ever hear of flashlight cooking !!
we are lucky we have gas !!
and candles...and he has his wine !!!
and long lines for gas
and equally long lines of people waiting to fill gas cans for their generators.
AGAIN......I have to say.....we don't have a thing to complain about...20 minutes from us in Belmar (on the shore) they faced this
total devastation.
Mantoloking....right near us
Seaside Heights...right near us
Monmouth BEACH...right near us
and, in Queens, NY
We here up north have never seen anything like this before.
Our prayers are with everyone who suffered through this
our inconvenient loss of power is nothing compared to this.
Will post again when I can.
