All the tents are set up and the vendors at the annual fall "Art In The Garden" at Calgo Gardens was full speed ahead !
This is a "handmade" show so it's wonderful to see what local artists have been up to all year.
It's also where I ran into my friend John McAllister owner and designer of Mud Flower Jewelry, Neptune, NJ. John does wonderful things with copper and brass.
and I bought this stunner from him. Shame he doesn't have a website !
Some of the really cool stuff included hand made hats replicating the early 20's...ala Downton Abbey
They come from Juliennes, in Toms River, NJ and they are all constructed using natural fibers such as linen, cotton and wool and all lined with silk or cotton. All of them are finished with hand detail.
I LOVED the whimsey of another local artist, Diane Way Racer...you can find her on FaceBook.
