the museum celebrates and interprets the city, educating the public about its distinctive character, especially its heritage of diversity, opportunity, and perpetual transformation.
I'd never been before.
In fact I didn't even know it was there and I'm a native New Yorker ! So...thank goodness I was with friends who HAD discovered it.

It has simple but elegant well placed displays
The Museum and Museum Store are open seven days a week from 10:00 am–6:00 pm.
And their cafe.....Chalsty’s Café.... is open daily from 10:00 am–5:00 pm.
